What is the CAT WHEEL?

If you want to understand cat behaviour, you first need to know what you're looking at.

Behaviour never arises for no reason. A cat doesn't urinate “out of stubbornness”, doesn't attack “to be naughty”, and doesn't hide “for no reason”. Behind every behaviour there is a cause, a need, an emotion, or a combination of factors that influence each other.

That's why I developed the CAT WHEEL.

The CAT WHEEL is a structured overview (or 'model') that lets you look step by step at everything that can influence your cat's behaviour: her health, stress level, environment, safety, social relationships, communication, daily routines, character and previous experiences.

Instead of immediately looking for a quick fix, you first learn to understand why your cat does what she does. Because only once you see the cause can you really change something.

The CAT WHEEL forms the basis of the Happy Cats method and helps you analyse cat behaviour in a clear, structured and scientifically grounded way.

This way you learn not only what your cat does, but above all why she does it.

What is the CAT MATRIX®?

After analysing cat behaviour and solving unwanted behaviour for years, I noticed I kept giving the same advice over and over.

Over more than ten years I tested and tried so many different solutions that I knew very well what worked and what didn't.

And it actually didn't matter much which behaviour was involved. Whether it was spraying, aggression, fear, insecurity, pica, house-soiling, frustration or scratching behaviour: the solutions that really made a difference turned out to be the same every time.

That's why I developed a general therapy plan, based on more than 200 client therapy plans, that every cat owner can use to better understand, prevent, guide and change cat behaviour.

The CAT MATRIX® was developed in 2019 and has since helped more than 10,000 cat owners and cat professionals resolve unwanted cat behaviour.
